I'm Not Just Thrifting, I’m an Eco-Warrior in a Two dollar Thrifted Outfit

Dear Followers,

Happy early Earth Day, which is Wednesday, April 22.

Reducing my environmental damage footprint is one big reason why I buy as much secondhand as I can. It is also the reason why I love reselling. I like to think that I am a matchmaker for those with a bit more money but a lot less time. I help them find the items they want and reduce their environmental footprint as well. Plus, I might just have saved that item from the trash, instead of it becoming someone's treasure.

If you don't thrift but want to learn how, here are a few tips from my Facebook followers. If you are already a thrifting machine, please leave a tip or two.

And if you want to learn how to be a bit more environmentally friendly, here are some posts from Snail Pace Transformations that can help

If you love getting out into nature, follow our travel Facebook account, The Parents Flew The Nest, where I share pictures of our hikes. You can save them using Facebook's "Save Post" feature, which appears when you click the three dots at the top of the post, and check those hikes out for yourself.

(One last reminder, Mother's Day is in 19 days! Here is a list of thoughtful and affordable gifts, many of which are planet-friendly, too!

Dear Readers, It has been 6 years since I outgrew my job as a homeschooling mom, and during that time, I have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Am I the only farm girl who actually knows what that looks like?! Sounds weird, but until I heard about the "NO MATTER WHAT" list, I couldn't pinpoint why I was suddenly so less productive than when I was a homeschooling mom. Sure, age and menopause have something to do with it, but readers, it was so bad I asked my therapist...

Stuffed animals for sale at an outdoor market.

Dear Readers, I had a great Mother's Day weekend with my kids. On Saturday, my two boys came along with me to our adopted granddaughter's soccer game, and they went yard-saling with me before and after as well. It was the first time they had joined me in yard saling since they were little, and they seemed to enjoy it MUCH more this time. Each of them got a few finds. By mid-afternoon, we had to stop shopping because my little Nissan Kicks was FULL. Mostly with big items like the Ikea chair my...

Would you do this?

Dear Readers, I am writing this email to you from my newly finished couch table, made from a yard sale find and a piece of pine board from Lowe's. You can see how it turned out here. I am loving it! I am looking forward to testing it out as a puzzle table this weekend, and soon as an art table, as I am slowly gathering all the products I need to create items for Etsy. I will be sharing photos of my next thrift makeover on Facebook soon, so hit follow to stay updated. I would LOVE to know...
