Dear Readers, I had a great Mother's Day weekend with my kids. On Saturday, my two boys came along with me to our adopted granddaughter's soccer game, and they went yard-saling with me before and after as well. It was the first time they had joined me in yard saling since they were little, and they seemed to enjoy it MUCH more this time. Each of them got a few finds. By mid-afternoon, we had to stop shopping because my little Nissan Kicks was FULL. Mostly with big items like the Ikea chair my son got for his place, and I found a set of plastic drawers and a bike rack. I didn't make a haul video that day because I crashed in my super comfy hammock on the back porch (affiliate link) as soon as we got home and didn't get out of it until sunset. But I did make a live haul video you can watch of my first yard sale finds of the season, and I made another one when I found some on my way home from meeting a friend for ice cream. I am planning to make more live haul videos to share with you (no editing means I will actually get them done!). I know I love seeing what people find, and I thought you might too, so make sure you are following Victoria Thrifts on Facebook to see them. On Sunday, my daughter came over, we had lunch together, and then we attended a baby shower. The boys paid for all my meals on Saturday, and my daughter arrived with fresh flowers and my favorite treats from Trader Joe's. I was pretty spoiled! Welcome to Victoria Thrifts. I believe that every discarded object is just waiting for its second act. Whether you’re here to boost your reselling profits, breathe new life into a vintage find, or simply keep quality goods out of the landfill, you’ve found your community.
Dear Readers, It has been 6 years since I outgrew my job as a homeschooling mom, and during that time, I have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Am I the only farm girl who actually knows what that looks like?! Sounds weird, but until I heard about the "NO MATTER WHAT" list, I couldn't pinpoint why I was suddenly so less productive than when I was a homeschooling mom. Sure, age and menopause have something to do with it, but readers, it was so bad I asked my therapist...
Dear Readers, I am writing this email to you from my newly finished couch table, made from a yard sale find and a piece of pine board from Lowe's. You can see how it turned out here. I am loving it! I am looking forward to testing it out as a puzzle table this weekend, and soon as an art table, as I am slowly gathering all the products I need to create items for Etsy. I will be sharing photos of my next thrift makeover on Facebook soon, so hit follow to stay updated. I would LOVE to know...
Dear Readers, Over the last week or so, I have been taking two small yard-sale-found couch tables and turning them into the perfect love-seat-long couch table for me to work at. I applied what I think will be the last coat of polyurethane a few hours ago. When I am finished, I will have created a wood-topped couch desk for right around $60. I have BIG plans for this table, which also include this salon cart (no, I am not cutting hair). I want to take my love of taking secondhand items and...
